really...

Today has been a long and strange day. I skipped 8 hours of the day. I left for my flight yesterday afternoon and arrived in London the next morning but the flight was not really 18 hours. I watched the sun set or rise I am not sure for about 6 hours. The flight wasn’t too bad the seats were much smaller than I had anticipated and I had a window seat which was nice except for the fact that the whole side of the plane was curved but I am a little too tall so I had to bend with it which made the 9 ½ hours feel much longer. There was a really sweet elderly couple who sat next to me. They had been visiting family and friends in Chilliwack. There was a little girl who sat behind me yelling and screaming and saying “naughty choo choo naughty choo choo!” over and over and she was kicking my seat the whole flight which didn’t help me feel any better. I started feeling air sick and unfortunately that hasn’t improved. The dinner they served us was actually decent I mean it wasn’t anything like dad’s food but it wasn’t terrible. After the flight customs and baggage was a breeze. Then I walked over to the train station and took the train to London right away. I forgot my itinerary at home but luckily I have the thing memorized by now so I wasn’t too worried. With my luck though I was almost comfortable getting to my tube stop when one of the wheels broke on my suitcase and then the machines at the underground stopped working so people were yelling and super pissed it was a little freaky when I was already a little lost. I followed where the guy working there told me to go “just down that corridor to the Victoria line” well mister there are like 5 hallways down that corridor and a lot of stairs! This doesn’t help with a 70 pound bag and a 25 pound carry on. I saw a lady talking to her daughter and overheard she was going to the same station I was and she had a map so I asked her and thank God she knew where to go. I hopped on the tube which is actually just a dirty and old school sky train...underground. I got to London kings cross which was a little stressful because by this time I had no idea which platform to go to and I couldn’t call dad who had all my travel information because I had no internet access. I went to the info booth to ask for help and I found my way. Then I realized I had taken the other two trains early but I still had to wait for my train to Leeds. So that is where I am waiting for another 2 hours till it leaves. I am so tired because it is noon here but it that is like 2:00am back home. I really want food and coffee but with so much luggage it is hard to carry around. I want to go see London I have never been here before and I am literally two blocks away from the palace where the queen lives but I don’t think that is going to happen this trip. I guess I can wait :.( well so far it has definitely been stressful and memorable. ;

(later on the train)
When I got on the train I had to travel so far down the train but it didn't fit down the aisle so i was blocking everyone getting on the train. luckily there was a very nice guy who helped me carry my bag down to the opposite end of the train. then once i sat down I finally got to see a little bit of england. A snack trolly came by so I bought a cup of coffee the guy jipped me 3 ponds but before I could say anything he ran away. When he came around for the second time I called him out on it and I got my money back. After that train I arrived at Leeds but I had about 10 seconds to get all the way to the other side of the station because as I arrived they made the last call for the train to bradford. I litterally ran accross the station up one elavator, across a bridge down a flight of stairs across another platform and then threw my bag in the door of the train as the doors were closing, so I just made my train. I hauled my bag on the train and took about a 15 minute train ride and then when i saw my statin i was SO releaved. so I got off the train and was halfway down the platform when I realized my bag with all my id my money my laptop all my valuables and gifts from friends was still on the train!!! I dropped my suitcase and booked it back on the train grabbed my bag and ran off just in time. It was ridiculous. I called my landlord and got a ride to my place and finally i was at my new home.

so to say the least my trip was an adventure.
